Photo Competition - Ben & Helen's Wedding, Princess Helena College

As part of the celebrations, I ran a photo competition for the bridesmaids Emily, Esme, Isabella and Maya. Each were given cameras and the challenge was to photograph something to do with the day. All of the girls took the competition very seriously and were photographing all evening.

At times it was like having the paparazzi there!!

The standard was so high, that it has been nearly impossible to judge. All the images can be viewed in Ben & Helen's Gallery.

The Competition Winners is Esme!

Congratulations! Esme will receive one of her photographs framed, a book on photography and some other goodies.

Esme's Photograph 1 - A beautiful photograph. I love the beautiful expressions you have captured from the guests. Great exposure.

Esme's Photograph 2 - A great photograph. Unusual, I love the composition with the tongs leading the eye into the image.

Highly Commended Photographs

Emily's Photograph 1 - A beautiful photograph. A true reportage image, capturing a natural moment. Love the contrast of colours.

Isabella's Photograph 1 - A beautiful photograph. A perfectly exposed and composed image. Become a flower photographer!

Maya's Photograph 1 - A beautiful photograph. A very difficult subject to photograph and keep looking natural. A perfectly balanced image.

Photo Competition - Gary & Sara's Wedding, Newick Park

Gary & Sara’s wedding took place on another hot and sunny day! The wedding took place at the beautiful Newick Park Hotel & Country Estate, Sussex. As part of the celebrations, I ran a photo competition for some of the guests. Katie and Sarah teamed up, as did Tom and Dexter but Ollie and Sophie both worked on there own. Each were given cameras and the challenge was to photograph something to do with the day.

The standard was extremely high and there were some very interesting ideas. All the images can be viewed in Gary & Sara's Gallery.

The Competition Winners are Katie & Sarah!

Congratulations! They will each receive one of their photographs framed, a book on photography and some other goodies.

Katie & Sarah's Photograph 1 - A great photograph. I love the low and interesting angle.

Katie & Sarah's Photograph 2 - Another great photograph. Beautiful use of natural lighting with the coolness from the widow light and the warmth of the flames.

Katie & Sarah's Photograph 3 - Another lovely photograph. Great use of the shape and structure of the stairs with the models pose. Someone looks at the fashion magazines!

Highly Commended Photographs

Ollie's Photograph - Great Composition in this photograph, with the tree being placed lower down.

Sophie's Photograph - A great concept and well photographed. I love the shallow depth of field with only the glass and ‘Love Hearts’ being in focus.

Tom & Dexter's Photograph - A lovely, thoughtful image. Would have worked well with the bride & Groom. Great Work.

Ben & Helen's Wedding, Princess Helena College

The beautiful wedding of Helen & Ben took place in glorious sunshine at All Saints Church in the village of St Pauls Walden. The very talented Choir from St Joseph's in the Park School, at which Helen is a teacher sang during the ceremony.

Helen looked truly amazing in her dress.

The reception took place in a marquee in the lovely grounds at Princess Helena College, where Helen was once a former pupil. The school connection carried on during the reception with the table names being school subjects including a special table for the children named "Detention"!

Richard & Theresa's Wedding, 24th April Malta

Due to the Volcanic eruption and the zero flight policy, the Wedding of Richard & Theresa in Malta almost didn't happen.

Despite that, the super weather, wonderful friends and family and a lovely couple made for an amazing day.

The delightful wedding took place at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Sliema. With the reception at the Radisson Hotel, St Julians.

Thanks to the lovely couple, who have become great friends. It was a wonderful day.

Matt & Jo's Wedding, 9th April Down Hall

The beautiful Jo and Matt were married at The Church of The Immaculate Conception and St Joseph in Hertford and then celebrated their wedding at the lovely Down Hall Country House Hotel.

I had a interesting start to the morning, with taking the groom, best man and ushers to a scrap yard to shoot them in their top hats and tails!

Jo's shoes were great - must be a fan of the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy.
